Are you working on how to control free hits inside the 5m dotted line under the rules of hockey? Check out this video and more on #FeatureFriday, where we highlight one of the hundreds of clips in the fhu3t Clip Library. Find them all: 🟢🟡🔴🏑
This goal is referred by USA for not going 5m before it enters the circle. It’s difficult to see from the limited angles and resolution available to us, but here are some considerations to have in mind when examining this situation:
- Was the defender entitled to stand within 5m of the spot of the foul or was there time for her to move back 5m away?
- When does the attacker begin the self-pass?
- How far does the attacker dribble before entering the circle? How would you gauge this?
- Did the defender infringe the 5m and make contact with the ball, making the entry into the circle legal at whatever distance?
Bonus point: any potential third party obstruction in front of the free hit?
What are your thoughts?
The fhu3t is now open! The FHU Third Team is your resource, your cheering section, your coaches–your team.
fhu3t Green opens the doors to the Clip Library, Yellow is an exclusive mentorship opportunity and Red provides associations with the resources they need at a scalable cost. Finally, fh3t Blue is a great way to support FHumpires for the cost of a latte a month.
