Yesterday, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) circulated very minor updates to the 2019 Rules of Hockey and Indoor Hockey, effective Nov. 1 2020. Any significant rule changes are still scheduled to be issued after the Tokyo Olympic Games and the Indoor World Cup respectively.
Outdoor
4.2(c): knee pads that match the sock colour OR are black are permitted
Field Specifications 1.7(c): nets must hang outside or be attached to the boards
Indoor
4.2: knee pads that match the sock colour OR are black are permitted
5.1: if time expires just before an umpire would otherwise have made a decision, that decision can be made after the end of that period (same as 5.1 outdoor rules)
13.3(a): the guideline for the amount of time players can take to put on their protective equipment is increased from 20s to 30s
