This passage of play shows how raised balls are handled inside the circle. The first is a save made by a defender where she stops the ball legally in mid-air, deflecting it back towards an attacker, causing no danger. The ball falls to the floor for the attacker, who then takes another shot. A defender is able to close and deflect this ball over the back-line, sending it on a higher trajectory than it was travelling when it struck her stick. However, no attacker was in close enough proximity to the ball to be disadvantaged or in danger from this raise, so the correct decision is a centre line restart for the attacking team.
