We have discussed this classic BELvGER highlight in several other #UmpireAtHome episodes but we want to bring you another perspective, that of the technical official on the game. In this #TBT, David Ellcock explains his role in getting the teams ready after a goal. Internationally, teams have 40 seconds after a goal which allows for televised replays but the teams must be ready to continue the game once the 40s is up. How does an official ensure this happens without nagging the teams? David explains the fine line between holding back to allow the teams to manage themselves and needing to step in…something that will sound very familiar to umpires as well!
